Is History Really Written By The Winners
I do know that cartoon man's pain.
When I was in high school (1957) my senior History Text had a section about the Korean War (June 25, 1950 – July 27, 1953). I was gob smacked at that since I remembered reading about that conflict and Truman's dismissal of General MacArthur.
In 1950 an older member of my family told me that if North Korea pushed all of our troops out of Korea they could occupy the United States. After that I watched the war maps of Korea every day and started getting worried when the North Koreans were closing in on Pusan but Alleluia!! our troops landed at Inchon and the war maps looked a lot better to this worried 10 year old boy.
